Reporting to the Senior Director of Field Human Resource Operations, the Regional Human Resources Manager (RHRM) is responsible for providing general human resource services and programs to team members, department coordinators and executive directors which meet or exceed Sunrise quality service standards. Key areas of responsibility include:
  • Championing team member recruitment, learning and development, and total rewards programs
  • Acting as a resource for HR policies, compliance (federal and state requirements) and required screenings such as background checks, drug screens), required training, workers’ compensation
  • Assisting in resolution of escalated employee relations, payroll, and benefits issues
  • Supporting all employee relations efforts and providing guidance on investigations, discipline and terminations
  • Conducting new team member orientation and onboarding, training administration
RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties: General Human Resources
  • Interfaces with Executive Director and department coordinators to provide advice and counsel on team member relations and to provide human resource team member services support
  • Complies with federal, state and Sunrise standards pertaining to employment laws
  • Takes positive actions to ensure equal opportunity in the conduct of all business activities without regard to race, creed, age, sex, or national origin
  • Ensures current federal and state postings and pamphlets are posted accordingly
  • Effectively facilitate human resource and related trainings. Researches, plans, organizes and conducts workshops for Business Office Coordinators (BOCs), supervisory and front line team Provide transfer of knowledge of labor laws, best practices and follow up for compliance regulations when needed. Will assist in coordinating regional trainings
  • Handles timely distribution and implementation of new legislation and company policy with region and community level
  • Prepare and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to employee personal information and data, including but not limited to issues such as turnover, retention, leave of absence (LOA), performance appraisals, recruitment etc.
  • Effectively utilize the data processing system to obtain, store, and analyze pertinent data and information
  • Assist in responding/researching community questions on a daily basis
  • Communicates regularly with appropriate leadership regarding community issues
  • Track performance of team members in our leadership development programs
  • Conduct HR internal audits at community level for personnel file compliance, I-9 compliance, training documentation, and maintenance fire safety compliance
  • Support annual team member engagement survey action plans at the communities
Essential Duties: Recruitment
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing and attending job fairs as appropriate.
  • Establish new partnerships with potential resources for front line and healthcare talent throughout the region
  • Support exit interview process as appropriate
Essential Duties: Payroll and Benefits
  • Assists with the resolution of escalated payroll and benefit related issues or questions promptly working with BOCs
Essential Duties: Risk Management
  • Manages the process of worker’s compensation claims to expedite return to work, to close the claims, to promote positive team member relations and to reduce overall cost. Can be involved in the interactive process as needed
  • Partners with leadership team to ensure community is in compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; monitors adherence to safety rules and regulations and recommends remedial action as appropriate
  • Acts as a resource in guiding communities on worker’s compensation issues
Essential Duties: Training, Leadership and Team Member Development
  • Handles timely distribution and implementation of new legislation and company policy within region and community level
  • Partners in the delivery and participation in Sunrise University Training and self-study programs during the required timeframe
  • Develops a working knowledge of state regulations and ensures compliance through coaching team members
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; however, equivalent work experience may be substituted for a 4-year degree
  • At least five (5) years years of human resource generalist experience in progressive HR role, preferably in the senior care, healthcare or hospitality industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Federal and State employment labor laws
  • Proven ability to handle highly confidential information and manage information with utmost integrity
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills when working with others
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication and the ability to facilitate small group presentations
  • Competent in organizational, time management skills, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) with the ability to learn new applications
  • Ability to work on-call rotation that will include weekends, evenings and flexible hours, available for our customers
  • Ability to travel 75% of the time: the position will require travel to our communities in Massachusetts, Maine, New York and Connecticut.
