Job DescriptionThe Team Member Services Specialist (TMSS), in partnership with Store/Facility Team Leader (STL/FTL), Team Member Services Lead (TMSL) and Metro Education and Development Lead (MEDL) implements the overarching Team Member strategies for their location. These strategies include: Team Member Relations, Human Resources, Education & Development, Safety, Recruiting, Succession Planning and Talent Management. The TMSS links the store/facility Team Members (TMs) to all aspects of Regional and Global Team Member Services (TMS). The TMSS champions all Team Members and connects them to the tools and resources to promote Team Member happiness and excellence, through their thorough knowledge of all Whole Foods Market TMS programs and processes. Location Leadership is responsible for the health and well-being of the locations TMs and the TMSS confidently strategizes with location leadership to achieve that outcome. The TMSS actively supports TMs in responding to change, working through conflict with fellow Team Members and addressing concerns with Team Leadership in a positive, constructive manner. The TMSS exemplifies Whole Foods Market Culture, Core Values, Quality Standards and the Customer Service Commitment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed in support of the Team Member Services Team or Whole Foods Market. * Operates as the subject matter expert on key TMS initiatives. * Provides support to Team Members, Team Leaders and location Leadership, regarding all aspects of Human Resources. * Coaches Team Members in proactively handling concerns with fellow Team Members and Leaders. * Mentors Team Leadership in developing positive Team Member relations on their Team. * Partners with Store Leadership in maintaining a positive work environment and ensures policies and practices are effectively in place to resolve Team Member issues. Proactively manages potential conflict among the members of the Team. * Supports Team Members to ensure they are trained, developed and motivated to provide an excellent customer, Team Member and community experience and to excel in foundational skills that drive results. * Partners with the Metro Education and Development Lead, Team Member Services Lead and STL/FTL in performing training and development needs-analysis within their location. * Determines specific training needs of Team Members and Leaders. * Implements the metro training strategy which includes global, regional, compliance/mandatory, new employee orientation, training and development for Leaders and TMs * Provides training to TMs & TLs regarding various aspects of Human Resources * Organizes and conducts 15 minute day or other training sessions * Maintains comprehensive knowledge of and ensures compliance with relevant regulatory rules and standards including Occupational Safety Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and State and Federal labor laws. * Processes unemployment claims with unemployment vendor in a timely manner. * Process Leave of Absences requests and paperwork. * Receives and processes Team Member Emergency Fund requests. * Acts as HIPAA Privacy Officer in conjunction with the location leadership. * Delivers results with high time pressures and great service to Store Leadership and Team Members. * Ensures TMS Admin is current on the maintenance of training records and files through the LMS. * Uploads weekly Prodigy schedules. Recruiting and Talent Management * In partnership with the MEDL and TMSL, executes talent management strategy that identifies and fosters strong leaders and operational results. * Assists location Leadership with assessing overall store staffing needs, job postings, employment ads, screening applicants and interviewing. * Participates in the broader, metro-wide succession planning. Benefits Administration * Fully understands the Whole Foods Market Benefits Plan and seeks out information about plan changes and benefit vote windows. * Conducts annual open enrollment and monitors ongoing Team Member benefit eligibility and enrollment. * Educates and trains new and existing Team Members in all aspects of the Team Member Benefit Plan. Safety * Works with the TMSL, MEDL, RCS (Regional Claims Specialist) and location Leadership to proactively mitigate Team Member's work related injuries. * Supports Team Members in receiving timely and appropriate treatment based upon the type of injury sustained, directing treatment following state and federal laws with respect to Workers Compensation. * Works closely with the RCS to ensure proper and accurate reporting and monitoring of Workers Compensation claims. * Oversees the return-to-work process, including monitoring of Team Members returned to work on restricted duty.
