BACKGROUND 

The Company is moving from a traditional to a Lean Manufacturing process. In support of this transformation there will be opportunities to improve the quality and the efficiency of the operations on a project basis. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for identifying and implementing these changes within the context of the full downstream Lean Manufacturing process redesign to reduce costs, improve quality and thru-put.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and facilitate the implementation of various projects to improve productivity and quality.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement identified improvement projects.
  • Conduct cost savings analyses to prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct “make good” analyses on completed projects. (estimated savings vs. actual)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified candidates will have 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Source Quality Control and other productivity improvement techniques utilized in a mixed model, assembly line, environment.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivation and ability to operate autonomously.
  • Solid leadership skills to coach and lead teams to deliver project objectives.
  • Experience in the automotive industry and/or Assembly line environments are major assets.
