Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Location: Perishable Shipping

Manager: Billy Godwin

Place product correctly and safely throughout the Distribution Center.

Typical Responsibilities/Duties:

1. Clock in and out on Time and Attendance system and sign in and out on a Labor Management assignment daily.

2. Complete a 10-point daily inspection of equipment used.

3. Ensure compliance with Food Lion standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.

4. Ensure that penalty pallets are placed in the designated area.

5. Report any damaged racks and equipment used to supervision.

6. Turn in signed drop and set-up sheets.

7. Sweep slots that are used for retrieval and stocking. If the slot needs to be mopped, contact sanitation.

8. Cut plastic from pallets before they go into a pick slot.

9. Notify management of reserve and/or pick slot problems.

10. Pull empty pallets and stack in a safe manner, no more than 15 pallets high, and store in designated location.

11. Replenish pick slots in an accurate, damage-free and timely fashion.

12. Check each drop for pallet number, slot number, pallet count and product description to ensure accuracy.

13. Rotate product in pick slots.

14. Ensure compliance with Food Lion standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.

15. Strive to find more efficient ways to do the job and seek to reduce costs and improve labor productivity.

16. Observe, report and correct (when appropriate) all unsafe and unsanitary conditions that could cause associate and/or customer accidents.

Shipping Specific

1. Pick up letdown assignments from the designated area at the start of shift.

2. Complete the letdowns in order of each cycle.

Receiving Specific

1. Complete batch refill drops.

2. Clear all assigned aisles of inbound freight.

3. Check freight in aisles to be sure it is in the correct building.

4. Store and record in-bound product as deemed necessary by management.

5. Top up and un-top product on the receiving dock depending on aisle location.

6. Identify any receiving errors and report to management.

Cigarette Room Specific

1. Keep in constant communication with cigarette selectors for label shortages.

2. Responsible for stocking gravity flow and pulling slots.

3. Set up inbound cigarette product.

4. Keep cigarette totes stocked for cigarette selectors.

5. Sort out and keep good pallets available for selectors. RequirementsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Ability to reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to and including 100 lbs.

2. Ability to meet production standards set by the company.

3. Ability to work in a --5 degree to 90+ degree Fahrenheit environment

(temperature varies within each department) for long periods of time.

4. Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers.

Equipment Certification:
