Responsibilities: Patient Service Center (PSC) Triage Nurses will provide cross coverage to all Employee and Community Health (ECH) Areas as needed. ECH patient specialties include: Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine. Physical work areas are located in Baldwin, NE Clinic, NW Clinic, SE Clinic, Kasson Clinic and Superior Drive.

This position will require the hired Registered Nurse (RN) to work full-time during the duration of orientation. The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Triage role is accountable for the delivery of patient care through the provision of telephone-based symptom assessment, triage, care by protocol, and medical advice in a busy Primary Care practice. The RN will work closely with the Care Teams to provide high quality systematic care and promote patient/family active involvement in care. The ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and the AAACN Ambulatory Care Nursing Administration and Practice Standards provide a basis for the practice of the registered nurse in the ambulatory setting. The Registered Nurse (RN) supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. (008181/008182)

Qualifications: Student or Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN- formerly NLN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN or CCNE, at least one year of RN experience (within the last 5 years) in an applicable care setting is required.

All associate degree or diploma registered nurses hired into the Department of Nursing with a RN start date after September 1, 2010, must provide documented evidence of program completion of their baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within 5 years from the last day of the month of their RN start date.

Additional Qualifications: At least two years of current RN experience working in a direct patient care setting required. BSN preferred. Primary care experience and pediatric experience preferred. During the interview, candidates must articulate the ability to: multitask efficiently, communicate professionally, and prioritize appropriately utilizing critical thinking skills. Applicants must have strong computer skills.

License or Certification: Must obtain prior to start date:

Current RN license by applicable state requirements.

Arizona and Florida: Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.

Midwest: Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers- BCLS -- certificate of course completion required and must not expire within 3 months after start date. A scanned copy of the certificate of completion or transcripts, including your full name, must be attached to your profile to be considered.

We will only accept certificates of course completion from the following providers:

* American Heart Association (Title: BLS for Healthcare Providers or BLS Provider)

* Red Cross (Title: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers or BLS for Healthcare Providers)

* Military Training Network

Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $29.95 per hour.

Hours/Pay Period: 64 hours per 2 week pay period

Schedule Details:

Monday-Friday; Extended Days, 4 or 8-hour shifts (shift lengths may vary according to patient need) - NOT NEGOTIABLE

Weekend Schedule: Occasional Saturdays as patient needs dictate - NOT NEGOTIABLE
