Plant Controller

Job Description:

• The Plant Controller provides accounting services for the plant. Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.

Work Environment:

• The Accounting and Finance Department consist of the Controller, an Accounting Manager, a clerical AP/AR associate, and a part time staff accountant. The contractor would report directly to the Controller and also work closely with the Accounting Manger. Due to the department size, the contractor would be expected to take on some ad-hoc responsibilities

Job Duties:

• Participate in costing of new products/ investigate low- margin orders
• Manufacturing waste and yield reports- analyze material usage and efficiency variances
• Monitor Inventory Transaction Register focusing on batch certifications and adjustments
• Set machine rates based on production forecast; monitor and recommend adjustments as necessary
• Supervise cycle count program and assist in investigating significant variances
• Track inter-division costs for correct allocations
• Provide division presidents with key analysis and financial information i.e. direct labor, inventory analysis, manufacturing efficiencies
• Provide back-up and assistance to the Accounting Manager and Controller in various areas e.g. budgeting, cash flow, financial reporting and analysis
• Coordinate with outside and bank auditors
• Monthly bank reconciliations
• Maintain fixed asset records

Qualifications:

• BA/MBA in Accounting/ CPA is preferred
• 10+ years Cost Accounting in Manufacturing Background
• Advanced Microsoft Excel
