Assembly/Maintenance Tech

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Disassemble, reassemble and machine Paper Machine components according to blueprints, memos, sketches, match marks and/or knowledge of machine construction, using hand tools and power tools.

Job is very heavy in physical demands, requiring a rare push/pull of 150 pounds, although mechanical lifting assistance is available.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assume responsibilities of any or all jobs (asked to perform)
Clean work area and maintain equipment during shift.
Reviews work orders and/or blueprints, sketches and diagrams, to determine work required.
Disassemble and assemble components
Inspect and measure components with precision tools and instruments to ensure they are within specifications.
Cleans parts with solvents, steam cleaner, hot tank, sand blaster and/or caustic soda.
Machine parts to specification, using small lathe, milling machine, drill press, etc.
Operate forklift, overhead crane or pickup truck to move parts and components.
Complete timely reports on materials used on specific job.
Complete report forms accurately.
Prime or paints parts by hand or with spray gun.
Look for improvements in process and provide information to supervisor for implementation.

SHIFT: Swing shift 3:15pm- 11:45pm

*Variance in wage has to do with experience- Maintenance mechanics will be on higher end of pay scales

Assembly/machining techs will be between $17-20/hr

Qualifications:

• Ability to read blueprints
• Power tool/hand tool use
• Experience in a production/industrial setting
• Machining/maintenance experience
