Aerotek is currently seeking an experienced Medical Office Assistant to work in the Gambrills, MD and surrounding areas.
The Office Assistant is responsible for the process of obtaining, entering, and confirming patient demographics and all relevant insurance information at the time the patient schedules their appointment. The OA will verify all given insurance data with the appropriate carrier prior to the patient presenting for appointment.
Obtain and enter initial insurance information for a new patient. Confirm existing data if established patient profile if necessary.
Additional duties:
Performs Epic scanning and abstracting duties
Verify given insurance data by phoning carrier or using online services.
Confirm member information and benefits with insurance carrier.
Ensure coverage is active and obtain plan specifics regarding co-payment amounts, deductibles, referrals, and restricted services such as radiology, injections, etc.
Document all data including verbal HIPAA requests into the Epic system.
Contact patient and relay all relevant data such as need for a referral, co-payment amount, deductible, etc.
Confirm the date, time, and location of patients appointment.
