SUMMARY
Manufacture, installs, maintains, repairs, replicates, rebuilds tooling and equipment in a manufacturing environment. The employee adheres to safety, productivity, preventative & predictive maintenance schedules for tooling and plant equipment to ensure tooling and equipment reliability for the continuous improvement of the processes utilized at the site. Works close with manufacturing engineers on tooling and equipment repair, cycle time improvements and process improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Verifies and inspects tools, dies and identified equipment for capability, functionality, damage or wear and maintains or repairs as required.
Evaluates reoccurring events for the determination of root cause, hypothesizes, deploys corrective actions and verify results of the long term corrective actions.
Repair or troubleshoot as needed: draw tooling, progressive tooling, manual transfer and automatic transfer tools and equipment systems.
Utilizes CNC systems, conventional equipment, hand and hand power tools to assemble and disassemble dies for service or manufacture of end effectors, jigs or assembly fixture requirements.
Design and implement Pokey Yokes / Baka Yokes to identify, eliminate defects and improve machine or tooling performance.
Experienced in the changeover of tooling to aid in the efficient setup and operation of the production process.
Experience with form tooling, stamping tooling, hand tool or manual processes.
Train or instruct less experienced team members on machining techniques.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
Applicant must have own tools expected to perform satisfactorily and achieve standard compliance.
Must be able to setup and operate grinders, drills, mills, lathes and various hand tools.
Ideal candidate will be able to set up program and operate VMC's HMC's and Wire EDM's, CNC Lathes.
Must have basic computer skills for maintaining database records related to die maintenance and change over notes.
Should be capable of operating die trucks, overhead cranes, forklifts, and related material handling equipment safely.
Must be able to read and produce prints of specified tools, fixtures, assembly jigs, utilize measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges as required to achieve specified tolerances are met or exceeded.
CMM operation would be a positive.
AUTO CAD would be a positive.
Good communication skills including the ability to receive and give oral and written instruction.
Organizational skills to optimize output by planning and scheduling time and work.
The ability to interface with internal and external customers, management, suppliers, and other employees

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school education supplemented by an apprenticeship in tool and die making or an equivalent technical education.
Must have proficiency in shop math skills including: calculation of feeds and speeds, English to metric and Metric to English print conversion, basic geometry and minor trigonometry.
8 years minimum experience in a tooling environment, fabricated tooling, CNC experience.
