General:
This position operates industrial sewing machines to join pre-cut vinyl parts to fabricate upholstery covers for boat seats. This position also sews binding on carpet, attaches snaps, operates the heat transfer and embosser machines.
Tools and Equipment:
Industrial sewing machines, snap machine, embosser, heat transfer machine, screen printing. Hand tools such as staple puller, marking devices, scissors, ruler, and cleaning brushes, side cutters, pliers, hammers, and trim knives. Air tools such as screw guns, staple guns. Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields.
Duties:
1. Operate and perform daily maintenance on single or double; needle sewing machines
2. Operate various machines as needed to include: snap machine, embosser, hydem, and heat transfer
3. Upon completion, inspect product for quality
4. Collect, sort, count and sew pre-cut vinyl pieces together in a designated pattern to form a cover
5. Rewind bobbins on the sewing machine
6. Be able to identify vinyl pieces by shape and size
7. Make minor adjustments and perform routine cleaning operations on machines
8. Keep own area clean, safe, and a hazard free environment
9. Perform various manual assembly operations such as: trimming, hinge installation, and foam gluing
10. Operate various assembly machines such as: snap, hydem, embossing, heat transfer and screen printing machine
11. Other tasks as assigned
