Plumber - Full-time / Part-time

**Must be within 25 miles of San Diego.**REPORTS TO: ForemanSUPERVISES: Apprentices when on the jobPURPOSE: To plan, layout, repair and install piping on water, sewer, heating and drainage systems, and their fittings and fixtures. Maintain and operate shop equipment and tools, performing quality work, as quickly and efficiently as possible. Know favorable options for clients and provide client with options that result in sales of company parts, labor service to fit their needs.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Service and install heating, gas, water supply, sewer and drainage piping and fittings at the direction of the Foreman, Parts Manager or per the work order and client according to the standards of the plumbing code. Maintain safe work habits. - Plan or modify piping /drain systems consistent with specifications and local codes. Create plans prior to work including parts needed lists when necessary or for restocking inventory on the service vehicle. - Perform inspections for thorough quality control and recommendations before leaving the job site. - Locate and mark the position of pipe and pipe connections and passages, when needed. - -Assembly and installation of valves, fittings and pipes, repair, service or assembly of fixtures, fittings, appurtenances according to the standards of the plumbing code or the manufacturer specs/instructions. Joins pipe by solder, bolts, fittings and solvent glues, and caulk joints. - Communication and follow-ups with other staff for scheduling carry over work and as requested/needed. - Perform emergency on-call services to ensure to promptly and courteously respond to the companys clients emergency calls. - Keep accurate, easy-to-read records of all work performed in accordance with office procedures for documentation. Use an iPad to communicate time on the job, parts used and to interface with the client for payments. - Maintain and care for company vehicle, inventory, shop tools, machines and equipment maximizing utilization of company equipment and resources. - Provide clients with thorough service and analyses of other repairs/services observed during the job and confer with office on availability or parts when needed. - Stay current with technical changes in the trade through continuing education, trade bulletins, attending internal and external training sessions and attending trade related seminars. - Maintain cleanliness, neatness and safety of the shop, building, vehicles and job sites.NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Attend company functions and meetings. Participate in specialprograms, internal trainings, and continuous education. Perform other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of three years of experience in related field, ability to understand and follow instructions in English. Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings and diagrams. Lift a minimum of 60 pounds and twisting and agility to perform duties that require crawling, and bending. Smart phone or computer experience and knowledge using inventory tracking programs. The environment may be inside or outside and may involve some confined spaces and heights or roof work.
