Experienced Tractor-Trailer Technicians/Mechanics are needed to perform the following functions on a Fleet of Tractor-Trailer Equipment for our client in Irving, TX:
Tractor Technician/Mechanic III Position Job Description:
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, repairs and performs preventative maintenance on tractor-trailer equipment safely and correctly.
- Repairs tractor-trailer components correctly with limited to no supervision.
- Conducts failure analysis, repairs, rebuilds fleet equipment components.
- Informs management about housekeeping opportunities, harmful working conditions, and unsafe work practices.
- Identifies broken tools and missing supplies required for repairs on equipment.
- Correctly completes repair orders with description of condition, cause and correction.
- Including properly completing a warranty return tag as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Shop Manager.
Qualified Candidates For Tractor Technician/Mechanic III Position Will Have The Following Education/Experience:
- 5 years of experience in a mechanical repair shop (prefer Medium to Heavy Duty Vehicle Fleet Shop or Dealership.
- College or Technical school level degree in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance or Diesel Technology preferred.
- Both Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical certificate preferred.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Medium/Heavy Duty Truck certified preferred.
- 1 year experience using computer applications (e.g. email, spreadsheets, word processing) preferred.
- State Class 8 Vehicle Inspectors Certificate preferred.
- Must provide a basic set of tools.
- Must possess a valid clear drivers license.
- Trade school, mechanical course, or equivalent highly desired.
Working Conditions:
Shop, office, yard, vehicle environment, may require lifting of 20 to 50 lbs., at least once a day.
