Diesel Technician/Mechanic Position

Experienced Diesel Technicians/Mechanics are needed to perform maintenance work on a Fleet of Alternative Fuel, Diesel and/or Gasoline Refuse Trucks for our client in Oklahoma City, OK.

Diesel Technician/Mechanic Position Job Description:

• Performs repairs and maintenance on alternative fuel, diesel and/or gasoline trucks including front-end loader, roll off, and other vehicles to maximize safe and productive operations

• Road tests vehicles to diagnose problems and/or test repairs

• Diagnoses mechanical problems on suspension, brake system, electrical system, hydraulic system, drive train, engine and transmission

• Diagnoses and repairs tires

• Typical repairs include, but are not limited to, maintenance and repair of engines, chassis, driveline, body components, hydraulic systems, brake systems, electrical systems, suspension systems, wheels, and tires.

• Road tests vehicles to diagnose problems and/or test repairs

• Overhauls gas or diesel engines.

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the shop manager.

Diesel Technician/Mechanic Position Primary Duties:

• Preventative Maintenance

• Oil changes

• Air/hydraulic brakes

• Suspensions

• Transmissions

• General Maintenance

Qualified Candidates For Diesel Technician/Mechanic Position Will Have The Following Education/Experience:

Qualified Candidates Will Have One Of The Following: (1) A High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of related truck or heavy equipment maintenance; OR (2) 6 years of related truck or heavy equipment maintenance experience.

• A Valid Class A or B CDL is required OR Must be able to obtain a Class A or B CDL.

• DOT Qualifications including Brake Maintenance and Inspections, and Annual Vehicle Inspections are required.

• Mechanical or Trade School Certificate is preferred.

• Certificate in electronic diagnostics is preferred.

• ASE Certificate(s) are preferred, but not required.

• Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience is preferred.

Working Conditions:

Shop, office, yard, vehicle environment, may require lifting of 20 to 50 lbs., at least once a day.
