The primary purpose of the general labor position is to support the general mining and production operations. This involves processing, packaging of natural stone products and operating various equipment.

-       Manually picking and sorting stone from a moving conveyor belt

-       Stacking and packaging stone on pallets

-       Assisting in the hydraulic stone splitting operations involving manually   pushing and positioning stone into a hydraulic splitter

-       Trimming stone with a mason hammer

-       Drilling holes and striking pins with a sledge hammer to break boulders

-       Working in the stone saw shop based on production needs

Be punctual & reliable in meeting attendance requirements.  A 95% attendance rate is desired and a 90% minimum attendance rate is mandatory (see company policy).

-               Accurately complete administrative forms and reports in a timely fashion

-               Adhere to all rules, regulations, and procedures necessary to maintain required licenses, certificates, and/or registrations

-               Apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions

-               Attend meetings as requested by supervisor and/or management

-               Carry out job functions without posing a direct threat to the health or safety to self or others

-               Communicate effectively

-               Effectively and efficiently carry out job functions with our without supervision

-               Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

-               Exercise courtesy and tact when dealing with others

-               Exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and when making decisions

-               Maintain socially appropriate behavior

-               Request assistance when appropriate, including but not limited to, the safe and efficient use/operation of equipment, tools, machines, or vehicles

-               Respond to inquiries and/or complaints in a timely and professional manner

-               Understand and comply with personnel and other policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Safety Policy and according to MSHA regulations

-               Work effectively and harmoniously in a culturally and ethnically diverse work force

-               Ability to work under deadline pressure

$10.00 per hour to start
