TITLE: RESTAURANT SERVER
Primary Function:
To Provide every guest with professional, efficient, and friendly service; to keep tables and chairs neat and orderly at all times
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be in proper uniform, clean and pressed, with name tag. To wear socks and non-slip, closed-toe, flat shoes.
Serves all breakfast guests coffee within one minute after being seated.
Take guest's order for all meals within three minutes.
Serve all food from the guest's left.
Pour all beverages form the guest's right.
Remove all dirty dishes after each course.
Present check immediately after meal is served at breakfast and lunch.
Suggest a cocktail or beverage before lunch and/or dinner.
Do the 2 minute check at every table and ask if their meal is enjoyable.
Reset tables neatly when bus persons are busy
Perform all side work according to posted duties.
Have hostess approve your station set up before leaving.
Report all accidents and injuries to the supervisor immediately
Discard any used or unused food portions left on tables or trays.
Can describe all menu items: methods of preparation; prices as needed. Works within policy to accommodate guest's special food requirements.
Notifies manager immediately of any guest complaints or comments.
Perform other necessary duties upon request
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Must be able to carry a large oval tray with 6 covered dinners, approximately 20lbs
Must be able to operate MICRO's
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Must be able to speak and read English
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Always keep back straight when lifting, bend knees to lift before picking up heavy trays.
Always wipe up all spills and breakage immediately; do no pick up broken glass or sharp objects with your bare hands; use a dust pan and broom.
Stack trays neatly to avoid spills; do no carry hot beverage on large oval trays
Speak out and warn someone when you are carrying food and/or hot coffee behind them
Always place CAUTION: WET FLOOR signs at spill areas. Then notify supervisor to have area mopped.
Wash hands prior to reporting to work, after using restroom and/or smoking.
Handle utensils by handles only.
Use tray-jacks when serving from large oval trays
Report all carpet and furniture defects to the supervisor
Know evacuation routes and fire extinguisher locations.
