Position Summary
This individual is responsible for the smooth, efficient and on-going service of all banquet and meeting functions. Focusing on Quality, Service Standards is of paramount importance. This position requires hands on activity, vigorous leadership and attention to detail, including a professional and ethical image for the hotel. The Banquet Supervisor is expected to have direct involvement with guests and employees.
Essential Job Functions
1. Ensure timely and efficient customer service. Anticipate customer needs, however busy, and whatever time of day. Maintain positive guest relation at all times.
2. Responsible for correct and timely room set-ups and service as written on function sheet, guarantee sheet and change sheet. Ensures all banquet service and set-up standards are met.
3. Make personal introduction with on-sight contact as soon as they arrive for every function.
4. Attend and actively participate in Food and Beverage meetings.
5. Effective communication with banquet and kitchen staff that is involved with the function.
6. Providing and maintaining open communication with the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.
7. Continuous upgrade and have complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of all banquet equipment. Responsible for the physical appearance and cleanliness of meeting rooms, storage closets, shed and service hallway.
9. Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures.
10. Prepare neat and accurate banquet tickets and traffic sheet. Knowledge to process tickets and billing as specified by the Accounting Department's Policies and Procedures.
11. Uphold banquet uniforms and personal standards of all banquet employees.
12. Required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by Banquet Manager or Food and Beverage Director.
13. Able to bartend according to set-up/service standard.
14. Assist in training or orientation of all banquet staff.
