Q. How do I find and apply for a job?

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Create your profile.
  2. Search for a job by your ZIP code
  3. Click "Apply Now" below the "Job Overview" once you find a job that interests you.
  4. Answer "Employer Assessment" questions (usually one to 13 questions).
  5. Click the "Submit Application" button when finished. The system will send your profile via email directly to the hiring manager for review.
  6. Sit back and wait to hear from the employer

If you do not hear from employers within seven to 10 business days, you may contact them directly on your own. See: How can I contact employers?

Q. How do I paste a résumé into the "Tell Us About Yourself" box?

To add your résumé to your SnagAJob.com profile, follow the steps below:

  1. Log into your SnagAJob.com account.
  2. Click the "Edit Profile" link in the sidebar on the left.
  3. Click the arrow beside the "Experience" section toward the bottom of the screen to expand the area.
  4. Click the "Edit" button and you'll see a box stating, "Tell Us About Yourself" at the bottom of the page. Paste your résumé into this box.
  5. Click the "Continue" button to save your information, and you will be taken back to the main page to review your changes.
  6. After you have viewed your changes click the "Finish" button at the bottom of the page.

Q. Why was my application rejected?

Sometimes, your profile and/or application will not meet the current needs of the position you've applied for. Often times, employers will pre-screen job seekers with questions meant to filter the experiences and skills they're looking for to save the time of everyone involved.

SnagAJob.com has more than 100,000 active job postings – and we're growing every day. If an employer has passed on you, we encourage you to continue searching right here for the job that's right for you.

Q. I didn't update my profile before submitting an application. Can I change my application now?

We always encourage job seekers to keep their profiles updated with new skills and experience. Unfortunately, once you apply to a company, you cannot re-apply for 30 days. This is because our employers do not wish to receive more than one profile per job seeker.

If you wish, you may contact the employer on your own and explain your situation.

Q. Can I apply for a job through SnagAJob.com if I don't have an email address?

You need an email address to use SnagAJob.com, but the good news is that it's free, quick and easy to get your own email address. Yahoo and Hotmail both allow you to create free email accounts. Just be sure to pick an email name that's in good taste and professional.

Q. How can I delete my account?

Send an email to info@snagajob.com, and please include the email address that you are registered with, along with the first and last name on the account.  You may also contact us toll free by calling 1-877-461-7624 (Please have the same information on hand to give to the job seeker support operator.)

Q. Why am I receiving job alerts that aren't tailored to my preferences?

The job alerts emails you receive are based on your ZIP code and region. When new companies begin to post in your area or want to make their job opportunities known, you'll receive those job alert emails if you have opted in to receive our emails.

To search for specific jobs catered to your interests, you will need to search our website using your ZIP code. This will show you all the available opportunities in your area.

Q. How do I unsubscribe from email alerts?

1. Sign in to your job seeker account.
2. Click "Edit Subscriptions."
3. Edit your email subscriptions as you would like. Remember, if you unsubscribe from our email job alerts because you have found a job, you can always come back and subscribe again for future job searches.

Q. How can I contact employers?

Per the employers request we do not give out their contact information. To contact an employer we suggest using your local directory or the Internet and going directly to the employer's website. Most of our employers list their address information on our web site, so you will be able to use that to guide you in your search.

Q. How do I change my email address?

To change your email address, sign in to your SnagAJob.com account then click the "EDIT EMAIL ADDRESS" link in MySnag. Enter your new email address and then click "Save Changes.”

Q. How much do the jobs on SnagAJob.com pay?

While some jobs don't have specific wages readily available, our Wage Calculator can give you a good ideas of what you can expect to make at given jobs in specific locations.

Q. What requirements do international applicants need to fulfill?

With very few exceptions, international applicants looking for jobs in the United States must have a J-1 Exchange Visitors' Visa or an F-1 Visa.
