How to make more money

Even if you’re not a teacher by day, you can still teach your trade to others to earn extra money. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing reports a huge nursing faculty shortage, so more than ever, nurses are being recruited to teach and are being offered lucrative incentives to complete nurse educator programs. Because nurses work such flexible schedules, it’s very realistic to consider balancing both a nursing position with a nurse educator position.
You can also take your job skills and offer them independently to other organizations. Companies are always looking for sharp consultants in a wide variety of fields, including marketing, finance and management. When you work as a consultant, you choose your clients and how much time you can offer them, making it an ideal complement to a full-time job. Many consultants can work over the phone or via email, providing opinions and advice without ever leaving home.
Similar to consulting, you can also earn extra money by picking up freelance work. Artists, designers, writers, and IT pros are just a few groups of talented people who can pick up extra work and extra cash. Freelancing is easy to work into any schedule because, while the work is usually completed on deadline, you’re free to work on your project whenever it’s most convenient for you.
You can always go to school for a higher degree or shop around for a better job that pays more money, but if you’re interested in adding cash to your current situation, picking up extra shifts, taking on extra roles, earning certifications, teaching, freelancing and consulting are all great ways to boost your salary.
