SnagAJob.com launches ‘Campaign to Re-Hire America’

Goal to put 50,000 Americans in hourly jobs by February 2010

RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 2, 2009 - Americans who lose their job these days are out of work for an average of six months.  And for SnagAJob.com, an hourly job Web site that’s in the business of putting people to work, even one day of unemployment is too many.  Today, SnagAJob.com announces its “Campaign to Re-Hire America,” a three-month partnership with America’s hourly employers to put 50,000 Americans back on the country’s payroll by February 2010.

“We have a history of matching Americans with a right-fit job,” says Shawn Boyer, CEO of SnagAJob.com.  “In 2008, we set a yearly goal to help hire 400,000 Americans, and we achieved it.  Times have been tough, but I challenge America’s restaurants, retailers and customer-service businesses to re-evaluate their payrolls and move forward with hiring again as soon as possible.  About 60 percent of America’s workforce look to hourly positions for their livelihood, and they remain ready to work.”

SnagAJob.com has approximately 100,000 hourly positions available for application through its Web site.  Hiring managers from America’s well-known brands – Toys “R” Us®, Domino’s Pizza® and FedEx®, among many others – are already using SnagAJob.com to quickly and efficiently find their next qualified employees.

Job seekers such as Linda, a former unemployed job seeker from Virginia, have used SnagAJob.com successfully.  She says, “I have been out of work for seven months. I started going on the site, SnagAJob.com. This site kept my spirits up, when I felt like giving up. I finally got a job with Michael’s; thank you so much. Please continue the good work.”

Says Boyer: “It’s extremely gratifying each time we hear from a job seeker who has been able to improve their life because of a job we helped them find.  And in times like these, our ‘Campaign to Re-Hire America’ is a way to help foster similar matches and bring positive attention to our nation’s labor needs.”
