The year 2012 saw the launch of many new initiatives here at Snagajob! With so many new projects, I wanted to give you a few of my favorite highlights.
Hunger Games parody - With the search for summer employees heating up, we jumped on all the Hunger Games hype to bring you our version of the trailer.
The Hourly Gig - We asked America: Are you working an hourly job while trying to break into the music industry? The answer (for over 600 people) was yes! A panel of judges narrowed all the original music submissions down to five and the public voted for their favorite…Ben Gallaher of Nashville, Tenn.! Ben was flown to our headquarters in Richmond, Va., where he opened up for country music superstar Brantley Gilbert. Watch for this competition again in 2013!
New video series - We really ramped up our job search videos in 2012. Our first two series, “How to find a job” and “Interview questions and answers“, answered questions our members submitted throughout the year. We’ll be continuing this effort into the new year!
Contests galore – We really like giving things away, and you seem to like winning them! We held so many contests this year, giving away cash, gifts, gift cards, job search tools and even a chance to be featured on our home page as a zombie! Didn’t win anything in 2012? Don’t worry. We’ll be back in 2013 with even more sweet prizes.
Pinterest launch – Pinterest has taken the social media world by storm. Our new page has tons of job search advice, videos, interview outfits and advice straight from some of our hired members! There’s even a board dedicated to all things orange (our favorite color). Check it out and let us know what you think.
Improved site - Our engineers have been hard at work, listening to the things you want and making it happen. We’ve upgraded our search tool to make things faster for you and we revamped our mobile site to make job searching easier than ever. Keep an eye out in 2013 for more improvements and upgrades.
What was your favorite part of 2012?
