We often hear from job seekers asking things like "I'm shy and not much of a people person, what jobs are good for me?"
Well the truth is, there are plenty of hourly positions available that aren't customer-service oriented. If you're shy, prefer to work on your own or you're just not into working with the public, then think about looking at back of house jobs.
What does back of house mean?
Back of house jobs, often referred to as BOH jobs are the behind the scenes jobs in restaurants and retail. Although these positions are more elusive to the public, they are certainly no less important than other positions. In fact, back of house employees are vital to the success of any business because they work where all the magic happens. Without back of house staff, businesses couldn’t survive because there would be no products or services to sell.
Because these jobs aren't very visible, they are often overlooked by job seekers. This means you may find less competition competing for the jobs and that employers will be looking to hire these positions fast!
