I’ve got some good news for you: this year employers will be hiring more seasonal employees than in the past five years!
Seasonal holiday hiring is now in full swing. Almost 60 percent of employers plan to wrap up their holiday hiring by October! This means you need to start looking today so you don’t miss out.
Holiday hiring has reached a five-year high – 63 percent of hiring managers will be hiring some help this season! On average, each employer will take on an additional 6.1 employees this season, which is dramatically improved from the previous years. In addition, nearly half of those hired will be taking on a full-time position!
So, what can you do to snag a job this holiday season?
2) Pay attention to the details in your resume, including your name and phone number. It sounds silly, but we have seen names misspelled and incorrect phone numbers. In fact, we heard from someone who accidentally put his friend’s phone number down and the friend got hired!
3) Follow up on your application - Employers tell us that following up is a very important part of the job search process, but is often overlooked. Following up on your application shows that you take your job search seriously and is a great way to stand out and get noticed.
