THE "SNAG-A-SCHOLARSHIP" TWITTER CONTEST
DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTEST: The "Snag-A-Scholarship" Twitter Contest ("Contest") which is sponsored by Snagajob ("Sponsor") is designed to reward individuals ("Entrants") that can successfully demonstrate how their hourly paying job has better prepared them for college in 140 characters or less on Twitter. Ten (10) winning Entrants ("Winners") will each receive one (1) $500 cash prize ("Prize") that is designated to help pay for the Winners' college books for a semester. To enter, Entrants must tweet their submission ("Submission") to @Snagajob and include the hashtag, "#SnagBooks."
DATES OF CONTEST/ENTRY PERIOD: The Contest begins at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time ("EST") on January 20, 2014 and ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on January 24, 2014. Submissions will be accepted throughout the duration of the Contest, with the Winners announced on January 27, 2014.
ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open only to persons who are a legal U.S. resident and are currently enrolled at a Qualified School. A "Qualified School" is a university or college, professional school, or any other educational institution deemed acceptable by the Sponsor. Proof of enrollment in the form of a student identification card will be required prior to the Sponsor issuing the Prize.
The following individuals are not eligible for the Contest:
- Current or former Snagajob employees
- Current or former Snagajob employees’ immediate family members and/or those living in the same household as a current or former Snagajob employee
- Entrants who do not comply with the Official Rules
HOW TO ENTER: Limit one (1) Submission per person. Entrants must use their own Twitter account and be following @Snagajob for their Submission to be considered. Entrants found using multiple Twitter accounts to enter will be ruled ineligible.
To enter, Entrants must tweet @Snagajob answering the following question to the best of their ability, "How has your hourly paying job prepared you for college?"
- Entrant's submission must include @Snagajob and the hashtag #SnagBooks
- Submissions must be 140 characters or less
- Submissions must attempt to answer the following question to the best ability of the Entrant, "How has your hourly paying job prepared you for college?"
- Submissions containing inappropriate material will be disqualified. Inappropriate material includes, but is not limited to, actions or words that are:
i. Sexually explicit
v. Disparaging, defamatory or libelous
vi. Objectionable and unsuitable for view in a public forum
vii. In violation of Twitter’s Policies & Violations
Submissions should not include personally identifiable information – name, email address, physical address, etc. Any inclusion of such material constitutes the Entrant’s permission for this information to be shared publicly.
SELECTION OF THE WINNERS: The Sponsor has assembled a judging panel (“Judges”) comprised of Sponsor representatives. Judges will review all submissions and will select 10 Winners, based on criteria outlined below. The Winners will be announced no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on January 27, 2014. Entrant's submissions will be selected based on the following categories:
1/2 ability to show how hourly paying job has prepared Entrant for college
NOTIFICATION: The Winners will be publicly announced by 5:00 p.m. EST on January 27, 2014 on the Sponsor's Twitter handle (@Snagajob). The Winners will then be direct messaged by the Sponsor and will have 24 hours from the time they are notified to acknowledge the Sponsor and provide a mailing address for the Sponsor to send the Prize.
PRIZE: The Sponsor will select ten (10) Winners from all eligible Submissions to each receive the Prize, which will be distributed in the form of one (1) $500 check and sent to the Winner's preferred mailing address. Winners are solely responsible for all taxes on a prize and any expenses not specified relating to the acceptance and use of the Prize. Entrants agree that if a Winner is found to have violated these Official Rules, or otherwise does not meet the eligibility criteria, such Prize will be forfeited.
INDEMNIFICATION: Entrants agree to hold the Sponsor harmless and indemnify the Sponsor from and against any suits, claims, losses, damages and expenses, including attorney fees that may arise from or in connection with any Submission and the use and/or display of the Submission.
GOVERNING LAW: All issues or questions about the Contest’s Official Rules or the obligations associated with the Contest shall be governed by with the laws of the state of Virginia, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other state laws. Claims may not be resolved through any form of class action. Venues for all suites will be federal or state courts located in the County of Glen Allen or City of Richmond, State of Virginia.

- Contest Winners accept all liabilities relating to acceptance and use of the Prize.
- Contest Sponsor accepts no liability or responsibility for damages, losses or injuries of any kind resulting from acceptance or use of the Prize.
- Contest Sponsor reserves the right to modify these rules for clarification purposes without affecting the terms and conditions of the Contest.
