The panel “Where does technology fit in hiring” addressed how the latest technology can making the hiring process easier. Panel experts included Jason Taylor, the chief science officer for PeopleAnswers; Cherl Dallner, the vice president of partnerships for Tax Credits Company; and Derek Thomas, the business solutions manager for Snagajob. The three panelists weighed in on the importance of staying up to date with the progress being made with automation, assessments and tax credits during the hiring process. Assessments are objective. While behavioral assessments can provide better insight into the quality of candidate, the final results shouldn’t be the only thing you base your hiring decision on. Use the results as a foundation for proactively finding right-fit hires.

Use your applicant tracking system as a firewall. Hiring online allows job seekers to go paperless when it comes to completing applications. This means more privacy and security for both you and the applicant. A more secure hiring process means more efficiency in the long run.

Mobile is getting bigger everyday. Data shows that more and more job seekers are relying on their mobile devices to find work, and the number is constantly rising. If you haven’t already, it might be time to consider adding mobile to your recruiting strategy and start reaching even more job seekers.

Make forms easier with E-signature. Working online means applicants can’t physically sign documents. However, with E-signature, applicants can complete forms by simply supplying the date and the last four digits of their Social Security number. Devote less time, paper and effort in the last steps of your hiring process while still getting the same official results.
