Night Auditor

GENERAL PURPOSE

Audit, balance and report on the various areas of the hotel (e.g. food and beverage outlets, rooms/front desk, gift shop, etc.) to provide accurate, timely information and to ensure company and Hotel policies and procedures are followed and to prevent fraud.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest service is a crucial part of every employee's job. While providing that your primary role is the Audit, balance and report on all food and beverage outlets (e.g. restaurants, lounges, banquets, room service) cash and credit operations to include but not limited to checks, over/short figures/tally sheets, deposits, counts, house charges, promotional materials, postings, etc. and reset all registers to ensure accurate, timely information.

Audit, balance, post and report on the front desk to include but not limited to; room charges, phone calls, zero balance folios, corrections, adjustments, taxes, disputed charges, over/short figures, deposits, etc., to ensure accuracy and verify proper cash handling procedures are followed.

Audit, balance and prepare, verify and report on Room information to provide rooms management with a picture of how they are performing.

Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for preparation of daily reports.

Balance and close all bank ticket codes, daily.

Run night audit final after insuring all revenues are in balance nightly.

Perform the duties of a Front Desk Clerk including express checkouts.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Night Manager/Night Audit Supervisor as requested.

Assist PBX in taking and placing wake-up calls, as needed.

Perform the duties of a bell persons requested.

No travel required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to operate personal computer, cash register and calculator.

Ability to compile facts and figures.

Telephone and guest relations etiquette and skills.

High school education or equivalent experience.

Accounting background preferred, but not required.

The Fairfield Inn Suites Atlanta Airport South is looking for a dynamic and seasoned Night Auditor. The ideal candidate will possess1-2 years of previous experience as a Night Auditor. Hotel experience preferred.

Major Responsibilities

. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the hotel, as well as the local area to effectively assist guests.
. Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company associates to foster and promote a positive working environment.
Essential Job Functions
. Assists all guests in a sincere and courteous manner, and whenever possible, going the extra mile and doing whatever it takes to ensure guest satisfaction.
. Registers and processes guests promptly upon arrival and departure, to ensure guest satisfaction.
. Verifies that all charges to guest accounts made during the day are correct, and posts room charges for that day so that all guest accounts are current and in balance by 6:00 a.m. the following morning or by the Brand Standards designated time.
. Demonstrates a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the hotel, as well as the local area, and effectively assists guests.
. Completes all credit card transmittals, direct bills, and no show billings for the day.
. Prepares all daily, monthly and yearly reports required by the property.
. Demonstrates the use of sales techniques to effectively sell the property, maximizing occupancy and average rate.
. Receives and processes telephone and walk?in reservations accurately ensuring guest satisfaction.
. Professionally and competently operates the telephone system according JHM Hotels and Brand standards
. Acts as manager on duty in the absence of the General Manager.
. Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for associates and guests.
. Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so that prompt corrective action can be taken.
