We have an immediate opening for a Certified Nursing Assistant .

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

  • Be authorized to work in the United States.

Wage: $9.00-$11.70

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for knowing work schedule and assignment for your shift.
  • Answer all call lights promptly, providing necessary assistance (keep call light cord within patient’s reach).
  • Able to take vital signs and other skills outlined on CNA Skills Checklist.
  • Carry out admission of patient to unit including:  weight, height, vital signs, marking and putting away clothing, orientation of patient to unit, supplying and filling water pitcher.
  • Report accidents and incidents to charge nurse.
  • Personal care:  mouth care, shower or bed bath, skin care, nail care, range of motion exercises, dressing, toileting (bowel and bladder training), check for impaction (stop if bleeding occurs), enemas (fleets, or SS), shampoo, setting and fixing hair, ear cleaning, applying make up to females, use of whirlpool, and all other personal care and grooming needs as they may apply.
  • Administer post-mortem care.
  • Follow correct protocol for maintaining company and resident property.  Failure to follow correct protocol will result in employee being responsible for replacement of the item(s) in question.
  • Wash hands after contact with each patient.
  • Make rounds at least every two hours, keeping patients dry and clean.
  • Administer glycerin suppository upon direction of licensed nurse.
  • Document daily activities of assigned patients, (intake, output, BM, nutritional intake, personal care,, etc.)
  • Empty foley bags every shift.  Carry out catheter care every shift.  Report output to nurse.
  • Serve food trays, open packages, cut food, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

Must be certified by the State of Tennessee approved program or will complete certification program within four months of initial employment. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • To be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • To be able to reach, bend, kneel and squat.
  • To be able to walk and stand on a repetitive and constant basis.
  • To be able to use step stools.
  • To be able to hear call system, pager signals, walkie-talkies and spoken English language.
  • To be able to wear protective gloves supplied by facility.
  • To be able to be in contact with domestic pets.
