Operations Specialist

UPS Freight, a leader in the LTL trucking industry, is currently seeking a Load Planner Specialist  to coordinates truckload freight shipments for UPS Freight Line Transportation. He/She analyzes customer transpiration needs and utilizes owner operator drivers and equipment to meet customer demands. The Load Planner builds relationships with freight brokers and pursues third-party freight opportunities to develop and minimize non-profitable miles. He/She will create processes and procedures to maximize efficiencies and timely freight deliveries. This position provides freight customer service, works closely with Operations and Dispatchers, and adheres with Department of Transportation regulations.

 This individual will be responsible for:

• Conduct Load Planning for Freight shipments.
• Maintains communications with Operations to address load planning issues, mitigate service failures and maximize profitability.
• Schedules broker loads with external freight agents to reduce unpaid miles between less than truckload leads.
• Establishes contact with freight brokers to obtain detailed information on truckload hauling opportunities.
• Obtains Freight Business, Plans Broker Loads, and Develops relationships.
• Supports the Driver Dispatch Process.
• Provides Freight Truckload Customer Service.
• Monitors and maintains current truckload equipment and driver’s availability to support flexible dispatching and freight transportation.

 EDUCATION:   High School or equivalent/College Preferred
