Regional Manager of Merchandising and Standards

Reports To: National Manager of Merchandising and Standards

FSLA Status: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

Introduce and lead Guckenheimer’s internal marketing and promotional programs thoroughly throughout assigned region. Interact with and provide support services for our area managers, on-site managers, chefs and hourly employees in regards to our food programs, presentation standards, menu planning, nutrition and wellness awareness initiatives and creativity programs. In conjunction with the support of the regional training chef provide a solid base of educational training that is driven by a hands-on approach. Create and enhance our operations to a level of consistency with good marketing materials, décor, inviting environments that compliment our clients approach to their infrastructure that is cost effective and efficient as well as complimenting our commitment to our brand image of Nourishing Inspiration as well as our
health, nutrition and sustainable incentives.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Develop and maintain our company standards in the approach of offering quality food that is efficiently produce and displayed attractively.
  • Train and develop hourly employees, chefs and managers on the standards on a daily basis.
  • Contribute to the development of the informational materials for distribution companywide such as Food News and the Monthly Marketing and Promotions Program.
  • Support and train employees on the proper use of the ESHA Food Processor software program and ensure accurate recipe compliance and portion controls.
  • Conduct field training sessions monthly with MOD’s at all account visits when applicable.
  • Conduct at minimum two M&S audits inspection each week.
  • Develop and introduce marketing promotions for your region and site specific that are outside the company-wide marketing program (sports events, community activities, fun holidays, farmers markets etc)
  • Play leadership role in execution of “Our Standards” and our Safety and Standards Program on a daily basis.
  • Conduct a minimum of one “refresh” per month – account to be identified by Director of Merchandising, DO, AVP or by the request of client or area manager
  • Work in the field at account locations daily from the common hours of breakfast and lunch services. Times may vary from time to time in regards to events, travel or special projects.
  • Share training materials and other program materials that have been developed within the marketing and standards group and/or regional training chef groups to ensure consistency of our program standards.
  • Collaborate, participate and attend area manager “area meetings” quarterly.
  • Develop a monthly communication newsletter/email for your region targeting specific goals to be accomplished each month.



ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Prepare and submit a report each week that highlights the work and projects that was produced as well as the upcoming schedule of events and plan for the upcoming week to your AVP, DO, Regional Training Chef and Director of Merchandising and Standards.
  • Provide accurate estimated cost of any purchases for suggested account enhancements or needs / must have approval prior to ordering or purchasing.
  • New account opening budgets need to be adhered to; must advise in advance of any reasons or concerns of going over budget allowed.
  • Invoicing for all purchases need to be submitted in a timely manner in order to avoid past dues penalties.
  • Personal expense dollars not to exceed overhead budget and timeliness of CC reconciliation needs to be compete and accurate.
