The Givens Estates, Inc. is seeking a Director of Nursing for Assisted Living, Home Care and Independent Care programs.  Givens Estates is a nationally recognized, CARF accredited, 700 resident retirement community located in Asheville, North Carolina.

The Director of Nursing has the authority, responsibility, and accountability for the operations of the licensed assisted living center, licensed home care program and independent living supportive services. The primary focus of the DON is to plan, direct, delegate, monitor and evaluate the delivery of care to residents. The DON facilitates the translation of the Givens Estates mission into practice by leading and guiding the nursing staff in the provision of care. The DON oversees all nursing staff and nursing activities to assure compliance with Givens standards of practice and care delivery as well as state and federal regulatory requirements that govern care delivery.  This leadership position serves as a role model and mentor for the team, uses good judgment to initiate action autonomously, practices effective communication skills, provides effective and timely feedback and effectively manages by delegating and directing managers.  

Bachelors of Science degree required.  Licensed as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina with 5 years’ experience in LTC required with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in LTC Nursing Management required (DON level). Computer skills required including experience with Microsoft Office. CPR certification required.
