The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Senior UI Web Development Engineer for our Architecture, Development & Engineering Department within the Converged Technology Group. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
The Hosted Navigation team occupies a unique, strategic role within Time Warner Cable with a large degree of autonomy in architecting and building Web portal, application and B2B solutions. In addition to leadership around traditional Web platforms, this group also performs pioneering work in cross-platform video services to set-top boxes, networked media appliances and mobile Web applications. The solutions developed by this group are deployed to audiences in excess of 10M unique users per month.
Essential Job Functions:
-Responsible for advanced level of design and development of scalable and high-performing rich web applications in support of the Hosted Navigation client on IP Set Top Boxes (STBs)
-Work under limited direction. Analyze and resolve complex problems to ensure minimal disruption of critical applications
-Provide technical expertise in JavaScript, CSS and HTML5 development with consideration for responsive web design
-Mentor less experienced engineers
-Work as part of a technical engineering team
-Interface with other teams and/or third party vendors to assist in deployment of our client application on STBs
-Monitor industry trends and advocate for Web development best practices to maintain and enhance the product ' s leadership position in the industry.
Job Requirements:
-5+ years in software development
-3+ years working with core Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JS)
-Experience with Agile/Scrum, Iterative/Incremental Development, TDD, and Continuous-Integration.
-Experience deploying high-traffic web applications
-Demonstrate willingness to adapt to emerging technological changes
-Work and communicate well with others in a team environment
-Demonstrate a high standard of work ethics.
Preferred Qualifications:
-3+ years working in a UNIX/Linux environment
-2+ years building solutions on mobile or other resource-constrained devices
-2+ years developing with server-side JVM-based web frameworks
-Experience with Backbone.js, JQuery, and SoftwRequireJS Experience enabling performance monitoring and optimizations, multivariate testing, etc.
-Demonstrated ability to work in a high performance team environment
-Knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, enterprise design patterns and SOA architecture helpful.
-Knowledge consuming RESTful Web Services
Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
