AAA Hudson Valley provides road trip planning in the continental US, domestic and international travel services, discounted products and services, financial products, and emergency roadside assistance. We provide our services in Albany, Rensselaer, Columbia and Greene Counties of upstate New York.
Enthusiastic and customer service oriented candidates needed to assist members in mapping out road trips throughout the continental United States. Will also handle membership services, cashiering and receiving emergency road service calls.
Full-time candidate needed to:
*Utilize software to map out and produce Trip Tiks (direct routing booklets) for club members.
*Offer guidance to club members traveling in the US utilizing tour books, brochures and internet research.
*Sell discounted amusement park tickets, travel merchandise, foreign currency, visa gift cards, travel money cards and travelers checks.
*Process new club memberships, renewals and answer membership related questions.
*Takes photos of customers for passport and/or International Driving Permits; issue IDP's.
*Make hotel/motel and car reservations for customers.
*Receive emergency road service calls for members who need towing/recovery services and triage to determine if flat bed or light service vehicle is needed.
Requirements:
*The ability to read a state map as well as follow routes on a US map.
*Candidates must be familiar with geography and all 50 US states, have knowledge of tourist destinations and vacation spots.
*Knowledge of Capital District and surrounding counties.
*Must be flexible to work into the early evening as well as rotating schedule for Saturday or Sunday.
*Retail sales, cash handling, good computer skills and excellent customer service and phone manner required.
*Familiarity with Google Maps and other technical mapping sites.
*Availability during weather related events and on an as needed basis to assist with receiving emergency road service calls.
*Patience and empathy for people in stressful situations.
*Ability to handle fast-paced situations.
*Basic automotive knowledge including issues with batteries, tires, etc
.
