The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Senior Software Engineer for our Next Generation Navigation Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Essential Job Functions:
- Take a leadership role in the design, implementation, and support of our big data analytics platform and especially our real time event capture.
- Real time event stream processing:
o Data Modeling:Collaborate with the analytics team to iterate the application event model for better analysis of user intention, experience, and success rates.
o Event Enrichment : Integrate with backend Time Warner systems to enrich the events with customer information and contextual metadata.
o Event Capture : Work with client development teams to create client libraries (Javascript, potentially native technologies). Understand the business meaning of the events.
o Data Cleansing and Auditing : Define business rules and identify anomalous data received from client applications. Work with analytics team on solutions for monitoring, trending, and auditing the flow of events through the system.
- Analytics:
o Work with dashboard developers and data scientists to uncover trends in product usage and opportunities for improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in mathematics or computer science.
- Desire to use data to change the business.
- Tenacious problem solver. Self-starter.
- Data analysis and modeling expertise.
- Ability to generalize specific requirements to the broader architecture.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Scala, Java, Javascript.
- Play Framework, Kafka.
- Unx/Linux system skills a plus
- Distributed compute platforms: Spark, Hadoop.
- No SQL databases: Druid, Hive, Cassandra, HBase.
- Statistical analysis.
- Startup attitude, but willing to work in a big company.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
