Within the Federal National Security and Emergency Preparedness (NSEP) practice, Lewin consultants help federal agencies develop and implement new programs and evaluate existing policies for populations such as military personnel, veterans, and citizens in natural disasters. The NSEP team provides research, analysis and consulting support a wide variety of health and benefits programs. Specific areas include program evaluation, statistical and economic analysis, predictive modeling and strategic planning, policy research and payment strategy.


 


The Managing Consultant directs and manages the planning, design and implementation of projects. The Managing Consultant serves as the primary client contact for methodological and technical expertise and translates client needs and/or objectives into specific deliverables in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Managing Consultants ensure that all research projects are conducted with sound methods and approaches. Successful candidates will have significant research experience in the specific content area, experience in business development, grant or proposal writing, and program evaluation.  Managing Consultants will manage projects of different sizes, work directly with clients, and represent The Lewin Group at national conferences.


 


Key responsibilities may include:



  • Managing multiple priorities and strict timelines.

  • Completing and delivering work product(s) in agreed-upon timeframe within the contracted budget

  • Managing and developing client relationships as evidenced by positive client feedback and client engagement with repeated business.

  • Completing all administrative requirements on time including time-entry, expense submission, client billing and others as requested.

  • Managing a large matrix team and aligning responsibilities.
    Developing new business through the contribution of substantive expertise and technical advice.

Requirements


  • Master's degree or Ph.D. with Minimum 10 years post-graduate relevant healthcare research and/or policy analysis, program evaluation and design and/or health care consulting experience

  • 7+years managing mid-large-scale projects including staff, budget and subcontractor management, timelines, deliverables and client management experience or 5+ years working with federal or state health policy and programs and/or clients.

  • 5+ years of VA institutional knowledge, consulting experience, relevant key industry/VA network/relationships

  • Understanding of VA health care and benefits systems and organizational issues

  • Proven track record for capture and business development including experience leading proposals and/or grants

  • Expertise in any of the following areas: policy analysis, program evaluation, program integrity, informatics, strategic planning and process improvement
    Proficient in leading cross-functional project teams

  • Proven client engagement and development skills including federal and/or state clientele.
