As the Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) Claim Processing Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will be accountable for creating complex reports to enable Medicaid claims processing for State Government clients. You will serve as an SME in Medicaid processes and CMS / MARS (Medicaid Administrative and Reporting System) reporting requirements. You will develop solutions to emerging industry needs by working within the business and system analysis phase of the MARS product development lifecycle. There will be some minor travel involved to go to client sites.
 
Key Job Responsibilities:



  • Consulting with State users to define business processes and the information systems supporting these processes

  • Partnering with stakeholders to plan and execute strategies regarding report generation 

  • Gathering requirements from various stakeholders and translating into detailed design documents

  • Ensuring that designs are agreed to by all stakeholders

  • Conducting data capture and consolidation activities relative to report generation

  • Engaging in data analysis to summarize information into appropriate reports

  • Leading the Systems Test and UAT processes

  • Assisting in bringing the reporting product up in the production environment

  • Serving as a subject matter expert related to MMIS data and processes 

  • Coordinating with CMS as required

  • Collaborating with project managers on overall customer relationship management activities

Requirements

 


Required:



  • Bachelors degree or equivalent relevant experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) claim processing

  • Understanding of the DDI process for implementing an MMIS system

  • Competent SQL skills, evidenced by the ability to run SQL scripts to verify data

  • Experience using a structured SDLC process to deliver a software solution

  • Knowledge of CMS reporting requirements for Medicaid

  • Experience going through the development process of configuring reports for State Governments

  • Proven ability to communicate with customers via phone, email, and in person

  • Ability and willingness to travel less than 25%

Assets:



  • MARS (Medicaid Administrative and Reporting System) experience

  • Experience with Oracle, Teradata, Informatica, or Cognos

  • Knowledge of MMIS member and provider data

  • Experience designing database structures, tables, columns and 'rules' for manipulation of data

  • Data capture, management and analysis experience

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into usable information to deliver value to clients

  • PMP certification of value, but not required
