OptumHealth is currently seeking a Clinical Program Manager in the Sunrise, FL office. This position works with the FL Managed Medical Assistance (MMA) program providing health & substance abuse services to over 220,000 lives.

 

This position has overall responsibility for utilization management and discharge planning and follow up, including day-to-day oversight and supervision of Care Advocates, Discharge Specialists, clinical training, staff orientation, and working with the Medical Director to ensure implementation of the Utilization Management.

 

 

The Clinical Program Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

 


  • Managing a team of  20+ field based licensed clinicians in order to deliver sound clinical decisions and quality documentation to customers

  • Manage care advocate site for behavioral health

  • Work closely with the health plan professional team, psychiatrists and other clinical staff to ensure that all clinical services are implemented and managed based on state of Florida requirements and regulations

  • Work closely with the Quality Improvement Director and Systems reporting staff to identify and address the clinical needs of individuals accessing behavioral health services

  • Utilization management of both inpatient and outpatient

  • Preparing reports and analyzing data in order to coach team to meet metrics successfully

  • Identifying trends and interventions as needed in a positive, change oriented environment

  •  Ensure the timeliness and appropriateness of the services provided by the Care Managers and to ensure that clinical review activities are conducted in accordance with OptumHealth clinical guidelines and care coordination processes

  • Local and state travel 10-15% or as needed

  • Managing projects and interventions from inception to completion 

  • Ensuring engagement of staff through management of ongoing training, performance management, coaching and mentoring

 

 



 

Requirements

Requirements:


  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage or Family Counseling, or a BSN RN with 2+ more years of experience in psychiatric nursing

  • Independent Mental Health License to include LCSW, LMHC, LMFT or RN in the state of FL, unrestricted and active

  • 5+ years of behavioral health experience post licensure

  • 5+ years of management and/or leadership experience

  • Experience working with FL Medicaid

  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications to include Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Very strong communication skills both written and verbal
     

Preferred Assets:


  • Experience working in managed care/prior authorization

  • Dual diagnosis experience to include mental health and substance abuse

  • Knowledge of evidence based best practice guides

  • Experience managing field based/telecommuting employees

  • Knowledgeable of community resources
