Description

Trainer

Amazon is seeking bright, motivated, hardworking individuals to fill Trainer positions at our fulfillment center in Robbinsville, NJ. The Fulfillment Center Trainer is responsible for the coordination and execution of training for all process paths in the Fulfillment Center. Trainers evaluate and refine processes and techniques to improve learning effectiveness and production across all departments in the building. The Trainer assists in driving the success training plans and supporting the needs of the Fulfillment Center workforce.

Work Environment

  • Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts
  • Noise level varies and can be loud
  • Temperature in the fulfillment center may vary between 60 and 90 degrees, and will occasionally exceed 90 degrees
  • Fast paced environment

Job Elements

  • Measure production quality and quantity and applies learning tools to improve both
  • Evaluates and improves processes within work areas, refines learning tools and techniques across the Fulfillment Center
  • Assists in measuring the effectiveness of learning, measures impact of his/her development efforts
  • Improves associates' job-related skills; develops, maintains and applies learning tools (methods, checklists and skill building agreements) to encourage associate development.
  • Identifies areas for associate cross training and support and implements trainings to support the objective
  • Supports the updating of SOPs and SOP certification of associates and managers
  • Assists in driving success of peak and non-peak training plans.
  • Always meets time commitments and deadlines, is goal oriented
  • Checks and tests for understanding
  • Gives insight to area managers
  • Works hard for the success of others, constantly remains “customer obsessed”
  • Demonstrates a positive “can do” demeanor and has fun and gains energy from working with others

Hourly Pay Rate: $18.50

Variable Compensation Pay (VCP)
If you work in a fulfillment center you may be eligible for Variable Pay, a bonus based upon personal and site performance criteria at your location.

Restricted Stock Units
Subject to approval by the Board of Directors of Amazon.com, Inc., you will be granted a restricted stock unit award.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be willing and able to work all shifts
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as required
  • Must be able to read and take direction in English
  • Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
  • Must be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
  • Must be able to continuously climb and descend stairs safely (applies to sites with stairs)
  • Must be able to work on a secure mezzanine at a height of up to 40 feet (applies to buildings with mezzanines)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable talking in front of a group as well as one-on-one with an individual


Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior training, teaching or presentation experience
  • Ability to give and receive feedback effectively
  • Can drive understanding (i.e. using visual aids, able to recognize when a group or individual is lost and needs more attention)
  • Willingness to work different shifts
  • Shift hours for this position may be different from the standard production shifts
  • Willingness to work in different areas as required by training needs
  • Candidates must be very organized and able to handle multiple and changing projects/priorities
  • Willingness to participate in and support Operational Excellence initiatives
