JOB SUMMARY

This position will be part of a team responsible for the accurate internal and external financial reporting of Marriott's foreign subsidiaries within the Netherlands. The team is responsible for ensuring the completeness of legal subsidiary ledgers within the region in order to facilitate timely board reporting, income tax return information for the tax department and separate auditable entity financial statements.

Responsibilities include financial statement preparation, coordination of audits and review and analysis of unaudited entities which are incorporated in the Netherlands. The Assistant Manager works with independence, but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing financial information as well as legal contracts to support the accounting for subsidiaries. In addition, he/she will serve as a contact for entity questions/issues for stakeholders across the organization.

SCOPE/BUSINESS CONTEXT/EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

Produce foreign subsidiary financial statements and supporting schedules required for all local reporting requirements in accordance with local GAAP requirements.

Assist in the management of foreign financial statement audit process. Ensure that audits occur in a timely and consistent manner.

Prepare schedules and analysis to support the local audit process.

Prepare timely and accurate company financial statements in US GAAP for use in the preparation of US information returns for Marriott's foreign subsidiaries.

Record adjustments generated by the financial statement preparation or audit process to the separate local entity ledgers in a timely manner.

Review current year activity on foreign entity ledgers for accuracy and reasonableness.

Document current processes and work on process improvements and standardizations as needed.

Assist in the process to file the financial statements with the local Chamber of Commerce.

Participate on various goals, projects or other tasks for the department as assigned.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience

Minimum 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience, consolidation and international accounting a plus.

Experience with accounting in a multi-currency environment under multiple bases of accounting.

Experience with PeopleSoft general ledger system a plus.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. macros & pivot tables)

Strong attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy.

Meets internal and external shareholders needs by collaboration with multiple levels in an organization.



Education or Certification



BS/BA in Accounting or Finance

CPA or MBA preferred
