Responsibilities:
Administration of Microsoft SQL Server implementations including installation, configuration, patching, backups, documentation, and monitoring.
Provide database administration for mission-critical custom and packaged software applications.
Uphold enterprise policy guidelines and recommend new/improved guidelines.
Interact with customers to find solutions for operational issues for existing and proposed databases.
Enforce standardization and consistency to ensure a stable and secure database environment.
Implement and monitor database functionality to ensure stable environments.
Identify and initiate resolutions to user problems and concerns associated with database server equipment (hardware and software).
Participate in regular on call rotation to resolve priority incidents.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years of DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005 or 2008
5+ years of experience working with development teams and production support teams.
SQL tuning experience.
Must be able to earn National Agency Check (NAC) clearance that requires U.S. citizenship
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
Must be able to work in one of the following offices: Plymouth, Hartford, Cypress or Carlsbad.

Assets
Experience with SQL Server 2012
Systems tuning experience: hardware, software, database, etc.
Experience with server optimization and consolidation.
Experience with third-party monitoring tools.
Experience with third-party backup tools.
Experience with a systems development or project methodology.
Experience working with remote teams.
Experience with corporate job schedulers (i.e., CA AutoSys, IBM TWS).
Experience with MS Visio
Experience with Data Warehouses and/or Data Marts - Database Administration experience
Data Modeling (Physical/Logical) experience
SQL certification
