Summary Description

 

The Field Compliance Auditor is responsible for monitoring and providing business support on a variety of complex regulatory procedures affecting store operations in South Texas and Georgia. The FCA provides strategic advice and recommendations with regards to policies, rules, procedures and regulations. The FCA ensures that those policies and procedures are continuously monitored and evaluated. The FCA is expected to act independently and also to interact with the Support Office, field administrators, and managers on a regular basis. This position also conducts and oversees compliance training and education for personnel.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Perform Risk Management Optimum Checklist (RMOC) inspections at store level (and warehouse level when appropriate), Oversight audits, Scan audits, as well as review weekly audits from ECOLAB and identifying opportunities for corrective actions or training.
  • Maintain the Responsible Party (RP) and Security Pass Code (SPC) lists with the alarm monitoring on line database (GENIE) to ensure information is constantly updated.
  • Ensure Sprouts programs, policies, and procedures are followed by all Team members to prevent and detect internal theft and to deter and prevent external theft.
  • Maintains high standards of service for all Support Office staff and store-level staff as a representative of Risk Management.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and integrity in carrying out responsibilities.
  • Regularly reviews Cashier Return Reports, open/close alarm monitoring reports, and all other applicable reports pertaining to potential loss to assess risks and ensure compliance with Sprouts policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and oversee the Food Safety Manager Certification requirements for all stores to ensure health department compliance.
  • Perform facility/store walks to assess, identify, and report on potential safety compliance issues that may exist.
  • Communicate with store management regarding workers’ compensation.
  • Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation.
  • Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices.
  • Monitor compliance systems to ensure their effectiveness.
  • Prepare management reports regarding compliance operations and progress.
  • Provide assistance to internal auditors in compliance reviews, as needed to assist store auditing.
  • Provide Team member training on compliance related topics, policies, or procedures.
  • Discuss emerging compliance issues with management or Team members.
  • Maintain documentation of compliance activities such as complaints received and investigation outcomes.
  • Serve as a confidential point of contact for Team members to communicate with management, seek clarification on issues or dilemmas, or report irregularities.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • Associate’s degree in risk management, compliance, business or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the risk management, loss prevention (prefer grocery retail) or an acceptable combination of experience and education.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of basic regulatory frameworks, general regulatory and internal control requirements as well as industry knowledge in all aspects of compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, impeccable integrity, and excellent organizational skills with a focus on delivering results.
  • Highly skilled in analysis and reporting.

  • Travel required

 

This job has specific physical requirements that may require you to lift up to 75 lbs, to operate machinary with moving mechanical parts, bend, reach, kneel, squat, stand of a long period of time, or push/pull heavy loads.  Qualified candidates will be contacted.
