General Summary:
Execute and implement Quality activities in alignment with company goals (local and global); ensure Team Members comply with company policies and procedures, and develop and maintain the work plan for the Quality Improvement Section.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to accountabilities below):
- Administer and control practices in the area of safety, human relations, quality, cost, housekeeping, and delivery targets.
- Participate in forecasting and planning as well as reporting KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), driving continuous improvement activities (process, facilities, man, and materials), and communicating any quality problems as appropriate to improve processes.
- Responsible for managing Quality Improvement activities, such as developing technical solutions and solving quality related problems while minimizing cost and scheduling impacts.
- Plan and coordinate vehicle customer audit schedules for new and mass vehicles.
- Assist in the selection of new Team Members; responsible for training (including producing training and inspection materials) and development, and administering performance assessments.
QUALIFICATIONS and JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Competencies):
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field, along with five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in the quality field in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced degree in business management or related fields desired.
- BMS experience and 6 sigma quality training experience desired.
- Experience in leadership or supervisory role.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and travel domestically and internationally.
