JOB TITLE: Intern, Tax
The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks an Intern for our Tax Department.
The TWC Charlotte Corporate Internship Program is designed to offer students the opportunity to learn how our premier communications company operates while gaining invaluable experience as they embark upon their prospective careers.
Please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this internship below:

There are two different internship options available in the Tax Department:

(1) Part-time (20 hours per week) during the school year and full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer with the intent to return to part-time hours when school resumes in the Fall. This internship option is year long or,
(2) Full-time (40 hours per week) internship position during the summer. This second option is a summer internship only.

The intern will supporting the overall objectives of the group in various aspects of the Company ' s tax compliance responsibilities. These responsibilities include compiling tax data, performing calculations, researching tax issues and assisting with various projects.

Program Requirements:

Must plan to return to school the semester following internship (undergraduate or graduate)
Open to students pursuing undergraduate, graduate or law school degrees
Must have permanent US work authorization
Must have completed two years of college before beginning internship
Should have experience or coursework relevant to accounting and/or finance
Required overall GPA 3.0
Salary-TBD

Position Summary:
The role of the Tax Intern is to support the tax team in its objectives. The purpose of the role is to provide the intern the opportunity to become familiar with the income tax functional areas within the Tax Department.

Project Title and Project Objective:
Specific tasks will include analyzing data and preparing calculations to support tax returns. . All of these tasks will require daily use of Microsoft Excel and possibly Access.

The Tax Intern must have familiarity with computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word in order to work in spreadsheet files or to create memoranda to files. The Tax Intern must be well organized, able to multitask, proactive and must be able to follow instructions. Good communications skills are a prerequisite. The Tax Intern must be a team player and be proactive in working projects with others as department needs arise.

Final Product or Outcome of Project:
The intern should be exposed to the day to day environment of a large corporate tax department.

Tax coursework preferred but not a requirement
