Primary Function: Under the direction of the Director of Information Technologies or designee, serve as a technical resource to school personnel; monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and support campus technology systems; develop and support projects to implement new technologies; perform daily tasks to administer and support campus technology in a high availability, production level environment; perform other tasks as assigned. Knowledge and Abilities: KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE WITH: •Operating Systems - Windows 7+, Windows Server 2008 and 2012, Apple IOS 7, OS X+ (Linux a plus) •System Administration – Microsoft Active Directory, Apple Open Directory •Server Virtualization – Microsoft Hyper-V (XenServer a plus) •Productivity Suites - Microsoft Office (desktop and cloud-based) •Web-based Collaboration - Microsoft SharePoint 2010+ •Desktop Virtualization – Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp, and NetScaler •Storage Area Network – Nimble, Nexan •2nd generation, application-based firewall technology •Voice Over IP Telephony – Cisco •Networks – Wired/Wireless – Brocade, Cisco •Email – Microsoft Exchange 2010 1-Monitor and maintain health of campus technology systems. This includes updates to operating systems, security, applications, networks (wired and wireless), and hardware. Troubleshoot technology issues and perform repairs as needed. Use available tools to monitor and analyze current systems status. 2-Provide administration and support of applications including classroom, campus, and enterprise-level applications. Administration also includes access level support and permissions for end users. 3-Coordinate vendor installations, repairs, and maintenance of campus technology systems. 4-Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve efficiency, resolve technical issues, and meet customer needs. 5-Assist customers with evaluation of new applications, develop implementation plans, and support the implementation of new technology. Manage projects including resource scheduling, meetings, task completion, budget, and project communications. 6-Provide customer training in one-on-one or group situations, prepare training materials, and assist customers with adoption and integration of technologies throughout the organization. 7-Provide account maintenance for customers, including account management, group maintenance, and group policy management. 8-Daily monitoring, response, and closure of help desk support requests, providing Tier 1 level support to customers and Tier 2 level support to technology staff, and assisting with the development and maintenance of customer assistance resources. 9-Provide daily monitoring of backups and addressing system alerts in a timely manner. 10-Travel to multiple campus facilities for support as needed. 11-Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems •5 years minimum experience in data center operations and desktop support •Strong knowledge of Local and Wide Area Network operations and support in a production environment •MCSE certificate a plus •Valid and current California Driver’s License Physical Demands: The physical requirements outlined below are examples of the physical aspects that the person holding this position must perform in carrying out essential job functions.
