We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical/Instrumentation Technician in Taylors, SC. Outstanding opportunity – long term temporary position.

Job Description: Selected individual will be responsible for performing root-cause analysis and devise corrective action plans to solve problems. Examines electrical and/or instrumentation objects, systems or facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations, services or repairs.

Pay Rate: $18.50/hour based on experience.

Shift/Hours: 1 st Shift – Rotation

Job Requirements:

  • Requires experience in using, installing, maintaining Distributive Control Systems, PLCs, Logic programs, instrumentation human interfaces, ac/dc variable speed drives, starters, ac/dc controls, motor control centers, and transformers.
  • Oversees the mill electrical, pneumatic and instrumentation functions.
  • Contributes to E&I safety and housekeeping initiatives.
  • Participates with other key leaders to ensure effective mill wide safety and housekeeping programs to include enforcement of appropriate rules and regulations.
  • Competent at reading electrical wiring diagrams and piping layouts, instrumentation drawings, specifications and instructions concerning repair, installation, and inspection work to be performed. Applies knowledge of electronic, pneumatic and piping systems, wiring specifications, local and national electrical codes, and properties of various materials.
  • Plans details of working procedures and determines logical approach to repair problems.
  • Services electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic an electronic maintenance, making operating adjustments as required.
  • Accepts responsibility for electricians continued professional development by acquiring and maintaining competence through continuing education, experience and professional training.
  • Supervises maintenance of electrical and instrumentation files and/or logs to ensure that mill blueprints, instruction books, parts catalogs and other useful information are retained in an orderly and easily accessible manner.
  • Identifies and analyzes potential problems, equipment failures and negative trends in equipment performance making appropriate recommendations and/or providing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Provides mill electrical and E&I services that result in maximum equipment performance reliability at minimum repair and supply cost.
  • Ensures that an adequate inventory of critical spare parts and equipment is maintained to provide minimum disruption of mill operations.




EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Associates Degree in Electronics or 3-5 years' experience as an Electrician, with instrumentation background in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve process and equipment issues.
  • Must be organized and able to proficiently multi-task.
  • Knowledge and ability to work safe in a team environment.
  • Possess clear oral and written communication skills
  • Have exceptional judgment, ability, initiative, and aptitude in the carrying out of assignments with minimal direct supervision.
  • Willingness to work weekends and call-in rotations on 24 hour/7-days per week operations.
  • Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
