About this job

SUMMARY
Receives, stores, and issues supplies, merchandise, or foodstuffs in stockroom by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices.

Examines stock to verify items received match invoice. Checks product for damage or infestation. Lists problems and refers them to Store Manager.

Stores articles in appropriate locations according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.

Stocks shelves neatly and accurately according to UPC numbers.

Rotates stock and checks for outdated goods in the back room.

May be required to compile reports on discrepancies, damaged, shortages, short dated and overstock items etc.

Determines methods of product storage, identification, and stock location.

Assists with maintaining a clean store (i.e. sweeping, mopping, washing windows, cleaning restrooms, etc.).

Complies with safety and GMP requirements.

- Prior retail experience helpful.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Knowledge of health/natural food products and stockroom experience helpful.
- May be required to be able to cross-train to use cash register, answer telephone and answer customer questions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to place product on shelves of varying heights, lift, reach, move around the store and handle product. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and to taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
