Trade Compliance Manager - Full-time / Part-time

Reputable international freight forwarder located near Valley Stream, NY seeks a Trade Compliance Manager. This is an immediate, direct hire position.

Summary: Provide Environmental, Health & Safety expertise and contribute to the compliance effort related to local, state and federal regulations and company policies and standard operational procedures

Principal Accountabilities include but are NOT limited to the following:

? Monitoring, record keeping, program maintenance, compliance and reporting for DOT regulatory requirements

? Review and approve of all requests for dangerous goods and other hazardous materials before they are introduced into the facility

? Ensure compliance with EPA and DOT regulations as well as local and state regulatory compliance, and will provide interpretation and guidance of these regulations

? Ensure regulatory reports are completed accurately, and reviewed thoroughly and submitted on time

Requirements:

? Must have 5+ years of compliance experience on the EXPORT / FREIGHT FORWARDING side

? Prior experience with Dept. of Commerce, Dept. of State, Regulatory Agency, and the Bureau of Industry and Security

? Have the ability to travel 20% (may be required to travel internationally on occasion)

? Experience with DOT, AES, Dangerous Goods and Air/Ocean Export

? Excellent communication skills – both oral and written

? Proficient with internet, computer, Windows and Microsoft Office Suite

? Spanish is a plus, however by no means required

Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
