Production Supervisor Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor provides effective leadership, direction, development and support to production operations to result in a high quality product safely and efficiently. The Production Supervisor demonstrates proficiency in different process technologies and unit operations. This includes planning, organizing, directing and controlling production schedules, product quality, employee relations, safety, housekeeping and sanitation, training, regulatory affairs compliance, SOP’s, cGMP’s, assets and material inventories.

Production Supervisor Job Duties (include but are not limited to):

• Supervise staff of clean room, production and maintenance. Train and assure employees understand duties, responsibilities, policies and procedures.

• Manage production schedules.

• Ensure production schedules are met for maximum plant efficiency. Capture and record yield and production data on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and ensure accuracy of records.

• Assure compliance to all procedures and policies concerning all areas of manufacturing, maintenance, packaging, quality, regulatory, logistics, safety and human resources.

• Review and verify work instructions and department documentation. Provide assistance to management in the revision and / or writing of SOP’s to assure accuracy and completeness in the manufacturing process.

• Supervise manufacturing personnel in equipment setup and operation of critical production equipment and processes in accordance with cGMP’s, SOP’s, OJT’s, product batch records and / or other approved company documentation.

• Initiate maintenance work orders to ensure a clean, safe and effective work environment. Ensure compliance with the Preventive Maintenance Program.

• Provide evaluation of issues such as deviations and equipment failures to determine a cause and corrective action.

• Lead root cause investigation of process deviations within the process operations and obtaining solutions.

• Use, update and maintain business software programs to support work.

Production Supervisor Requirements (include but are not limited to):

• MUST BE BILINGUAL IN MANDARIN CHINESE AND ENGLISH TO BE CONSIDERED

• Bachelors’ degree in Industrial Management, Business Management, or related discipline is a plus.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a plant production environment minimum

• 3 to 5 years of progressive leadership or supervisory experience

• Knowledge of lean / six sigma tools and concepts: 5S, Kanban, Kaizen, TPM, TQM, etc. is preferred

• Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements, such as FDA and OSHA is preferred

• Advanced level of written and verbal communication skills with the ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations

• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals

• Ability to effectively present information to management team

• Ability to lead plant employees in a team environment

• Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

• Effectively manage competing priorities, adaptable to change, demonstrated ability to accept additional responsibilities and manage tasks through teamwork

• Basic knowledge of computers using MS Office, MS Outlook and business software systems commonly used in the manufacturing industry

• Math proficiency - ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals

• Possess a working knowledge of other business functions such as Logistics, Finance, Sales, Engineering, and Human Resources in addition to Manufacturing and Quality.

• Ability to frequently lift up to 20 lbs; occasionally lift 40 lbs.
