Mission: The purpose of the Senior UI Engineer is to consistently deliver projects on time and within budget, meeting high quality standards and client expectations. The Senior Engineer works within our Agile-Scrum framework to write high-quality front-end applications and builds solutions consistent with architecture standards and an emphasis on usability and user experience best practices.

At Pitney Bowes, a Senior-level engineer is level three on a six-tier scale for engineers, and must possess more years of experience and a broader range of skills than a junior engineer.

Qualifications
Preferred: Relevant Bachelor's degree and/or 3-5 years of industry experience (or demonstration of strong technical aptitude on previous projects)
Possesses a range of expertise across multiple technical disciplines such as JavaScript, HTML5, jQuery, CSS3 and mobile development
Capable of evaluating and solving technical problems at a systems level
Shows a high degree of ownership and initiative for products and projects
Maintains an above average quality and flow of value contributed to projects

Qualification
Skills
Required skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery & Knockout.js, QUnit and Bootstrap
Desired skills: Node.js, RequireJS, underscore.js, Sycamore, moment.js, AngularJS, Bower and Compass/SASS.
Knowledge of Java web services and SOAP or REST a plus
Experience with SCRUM or other Lean/Agile methodologies
Knowledge of usability, human factors, and the UX process
Proven ability to think at the system's level and continually engage in learning initiatives
Must be able to effectively communicate regarding relevant technology
Must be self-driven to stay updated on the changing industry
Excellent time management skills
Excellent communication skills
Deadline driven
Detail oriented

Responsibilities
Work with Product, Project and Engineering Management to deliver JS code to implement user stories.
Assist managers and architects with technical leadership of JavaScript Engineers.
Timely completion and quality of project deliverables on assigned projects.
Assist in producing estimates for projects when requested while communicating with clients to fill knowledge gaps.
Write and maintain code according to Pitney Bowes standards of quality.
