## Description *PURPOSE* _OF POSITION_: Reporting to the Architectural Project Manager (APM), the APC will be the liaison for architectural services for retail, office, and distribution center facilities operated by TRU operating divisions (BRU, TRU). S/he will work with a variety of outside architectural and engineering consultants, and in house company resources, as required, to facilitate assigned projects. *DUTIES AND* _RESPONSIBILITIES;_(including but not limited to) * Assist the APM on design related aspects of assigned retail projects in accordance with company standards. Coordinate with internal company departments (Store Planning, Procurement, Risk Management, IT, Loss Prevention, Visual, Logistics, Operations, etc.) as needed on assigned projects. * Act as Program Coordinator on assigned groups of remodels or special projects. Coordinate external and/ or internal resources performing due diligence, feasibility studies (including geotechnical and environmental reports), walk-thrus, design development, construction documents, governmental approvals, etc. working with the APM. Assist in landlord approval as needed. * _ _Assist in design/ construction related projects on existing operating stores with Asset Management group. Assist with building and pylon related issues, ADA issues, DOT condemnations, etc. on existing stores as needed. * Review fixture plans with oversight from APM, checking for code compliance and sound engineering practices, along with outside consultants. Review site plans for conformance to needs of retail facilities. * _ _Assist with preliminary architectural design on potential new store locations. Coordinate with Real Estate Department, outside developers, and other Architectural and Store Planning Department members. ## Qualifications 3 to 5 years of experience, including a knowledge of architectural design, construction technology, general understanding of major retail and/ or commercial facilities, building codes and general building permit requirements. * Ability to multi-task in a complex retail design and construction project department. * Knowledge of life safety guidelines in building planning and construction practices. * Computer skills (PC) including spreadsheets, project management software, etc. Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketchup, AutoCAD and/or AutoDesk Revit preferred. * Sound oral and verbal communication skills and good organizational office skills. * BS Degree in Architecture or Engineering or relative experience. *Job Function:* Property Development *Primary Location:* USA-NJ-Wayne *Schedule:* Full-time *Organization:* Headquarters *Job Type:* Standard *Education Level:* Bachelor''s Degree *Travel:* No *Work Locations:* Headquarters One Geoffrey Way Wayne 07470-2030 *Brand:* Toys ''R'' US *Req ID:* 48690
