Position Description:

Primary Responsiblities:

  • Responsible for medical and ancillary product premium billing. 
  • Positions in this function interact with customers gathering support data to ensure invoice accuracy and also work through specific billing discrepancies. 
  • Provide input to policies, systems, methods, and procedures for the effective management and control of the premium billing function. 
  • Educate customers regarding the availability of receiving invoices and remitting payments through online applications. 
  • Monitor outstanding balances and take appropriate actions to ensure clients pay as billed. 
  • Manage the preparation of invoices and complete reconciliation of billing with accounts receivables. 
  • May also include quality assurance and audit of billing activities. 
  • Positions mainly responsible for more general A/R activities which do not include medical and ancillary premium billing activities can be found in the Accounts Receivable function in the Finance job family.
  • Coordinates, supervises and is accountable for the daily activities of business support, technical or production team or unit.
  • Impact of work is most often at the team level.

Technical Competencies:
  • Average to above knowledge in basic MS Office applications as well an aptitude to learn new applications quickly.
  • Ability to train new staff in all areas as needed and provide source of knowledge for staff inquiries.
  • Solid understanding of Patient Revenue Cycle Applications and process flow through registration, charge entry, billing, collections, reimbursement calculation and payment.


Requirements

Requirements:
  • Minimum education HS Diploma/ GED
  • 1+ year experience working in a team environment focused on meeting organizational goals and objectives.
  • 3+ years experience providing direct supervision of employees responsible for tasks related to billing, collection, post-payment review of assigned inventory, preferably within a multi-facility environment.
  • Knowledge specific to current regulations of Medicaid, Medicare, Federal & State Funded programs and thorough understanding of Managed Care contracted plans.
  • 3+ years experience and excellent working knowledge of PFS/multi-facility operations.
  • 3+years experience and excellent working knowledge of patient/customer and payer relations.
  • Travel as required to complete business tasks as needed
