Convenience Store Manager

Summary

The ideal Store Manager will possess a high level of initiative, discretion, and independent judgment with a can-do attitude and the ability to multi-task while maintaining a cheerful countenance. They should be one who can see things that need to be done and figure out a way to do them effectively and efficiently. They are responsible for overall store operations including: sales, inventory and expense control, people management and scheduling of assigned employees, while ensuring amazing customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities and Duties
- 3 Years' experience in a retail management capacity
- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates.
- Competent in subordinate's duties and tasks.
- Must possess a valid driver's license for the purpose of operating company vehicles.
- Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts. Be able to prevent or handle these situations.
- Commitment to excellence and maintaining high standards.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem solving, and analytical skills with an emphasis on business acumen.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other applicable software programs as necessary to efficiently perform duties associated with the position in a highly technological environment.
- Proven track record of being dependable and reliable.

Communication
- Maintain positive, open communication with management, distribution center, accounts payable clerks and retail store staff.
- Participate in monthly staff meeting and communicate information and issues on vendors, receiving, invoicing, shrink, expenses, and store needs.
- Communicate inventory and vendor concerns/information to management.

Customer Service
- Promptly assess and respond to customer inquiries and complaints and direct customers to the proper personnel when necessary.
- Create an atmosphere of delivering Amazing Customer Service to Every Customer Every Time.

Skill and Knowledge Requirements
- Exhibit a fair level of product knowledge.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing.
- Make the best decisions and solve problems by analyzing information and evaluating results.
- Have excellent organizational skills, planning skills and time management expertise.
- Perform all necessary inventory procedures utilizing RF (radio frequency) technology and equipment as well as operating POS systems.
- Experience in food preparation.
- Maintain compliance with all food handling guidelines set forth by governmental agencies.
- Responsible to adhere to and be aware of governmental requirements in the sale of alcohol and tobacco products.

Requirements
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods.
- Move, lift and handle boxes of merchandise throughout the store.
- Stock shelves, fill merchandise and keep the store clean and safe.
- Ability to spend long hours using office equipment and computers
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time or utilize team lifts as necessary.
- Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
- Ability to operate warehouse/stockroom equipment as needed.
